Handmade books

I love books. And what better way to show that love, than to make them yourself. I took a beginning bookmaking class at the Lawrence Arts Center in 2005, and have made a few books with coptic stitch and japanese stab bindings. I attended the 8th biennial Focus on Book Arts conference in Oregon in 2007 and got even more great ideas for future book projects.
I have also experimented with altered books. I created my first altered book as a part of a project for work. We’ll be doing an altered book project again next year, and I already have some ideas floating around in my head.
